Oh, how I wish the title of this post had something to do with a recent cruise we took. But that didn't happen. :) We went to an actual carnival. Natalie's school had a homecoming, and they set up all the rides on their playground. There was NO way we were going to escape hearing about this! So we took the girls out for an evening of fun. The first thing Natalie did was the super slide. She saw two boys from her class going, so she joined them. I don't think she realized what she got herself into. Mike and I raised our eyebrows at each other and shrugged. She'd find out soon enough!

This is where it got kind of fast and scary for her. We were trying hard not to laugh at her facial expressions:

Onto something much more her pace! They loved this:

My favorite picture from the whole night:

Apple spinning:

Bounce house:

The elephant ride. This thing went up, around a couple times, and back down. Literally less than 30 seconds.

Natalie muttered that she liked 'the dumbo' ride better. Yes, she just compared an old carnival ride to Disney World:

Daddy took her on the scrambler. I was surprised she wanted to do it.

While waiting for her turn, the song "Call Me Maybe" came on and both our girls started dancing. Natalie knows just about every word to this song b/c we sing it obnoxiously loud together (and dance) on the way to school every morning.

Lexi dancing to "Call Me Maybe" Ha!

With Nani:

Before the ride started:

We strategically placed Mike on the outside so he wouldn't squish her. Natalie looks good-and-smooshed here anyway:

She wanted to do it again. This time with me. Oh dear.

I finally forced Natalie to do my favorite: the swings. She huffed and puffed but finally agreed. As I was getting her buckled, her friend swooped in and took my seat! So I'm sitting about 4 rows behind her:

Lexi & Pop watching the swings:

My hand has a mind of its own, apparently:

Natalie LOVING it:

Still no control over my hands...

LOL, the ride just ended and Natalie looks half-passed out.

After we were done with rides, we enjoyed some funnel cake on the sidewalk with live music in the background. Awesome night!
