Minestrone

It is an awesome dinner for cold weather, makes the house smell wonderful, and makes lots of yummy leftovers!

If anyone wants the recipe, let me know:

Beautiful to Yucky

Natalie and I were walking into a store today, and this store has a major pigeon problem. There are literally hundreds on the roof...which really doesn't concern me. What does get my attention, is when these hundreds of birds start flying over our heads! Here was my conversation with Natalie:

Natalie: Ohhh Monnie! See the birds!
Me: yes, I see them...
Natalie: Beautiful!! Beauuutiful! (a new favorite word of hers)
**I start running toward the store as I see a couple droppings fall**
Natalie: What doing Monnie?
Me: Natalie, these birds are going to poop on us!!!
Natalie: Birds poopy????
Me: (now squealing) Yes, they'll poop on us if we don't hurry!
Natalie: Poopy birds? Yuuuck! Monnie, birds yuck!
Me: Yes, very yucky.
Natalie: Birds yuck!

When we came back outside, they were back on the roof. When we got to the car Natalie looked back at the birds and said, "Yucky birds, Monnie." LOL

Whirlwind

We have had a very busy (good) week! One of my best friends, (college roommate, and maid of honor) Jen was able to visit for the entire weekend. We...had...fun! First of all, she rented a Prius and let me drive it the entire time she was here. I was nervous--it looked like tin can from the outside. Then I got in, and realized it had more interior room than MY car!! Once I got the hang of it, it was really fun to drive...and I even forced Mike to take a spin in it. We got some much-needed girl bonding time in over lunch and shopping, and I realized how much I've missed her.

Monday I had an apt, and before I left, we realized my tags were stolen off my car! Nice.

Natalie has had a cold since Saturday, and it still hasn't cleared up completely...although she's feeling much better now. Mike caught it, and frankly, I don't know how I didn't, since every article of clothing I wore was used as a tissue.

Mike was traveling briefly this week. My parents, on the other hand, have been traveling ALL week. They are vacationing up in Montana, and have spent most of their days at Yellowstone driving around enjoying the big country, binoculars in hand.

Around the House

Clapping...I love these little hands:

If you use our bathroom, you will most likely see little hands under the door:

I've been on a sewing kick lately and made 2 corduroy winter jumpers for Natalie:

Park Fun!

Last Saturday, the weather was perfect! We took Natalie to the park for her first picnic and kite flying experience. She had a blast!

Time with Grandparents

Natalie and I made sugar cookies a couple weeks ago, this is her desperate attempt to get ALL the dough off of the spoon.

Then she got to ice cupcakes with Nani! (I believe the snitching was unregulated here, and Natalie was up late on a sugar high)

Shopping buddy

When Natalie and I go grocery shopping, we are constantly talking back and forth. Here was our conversation last week:

Monnie: Now Natalie, what was I looking for?
Natalie: five, six, seven, eight, nine, TEN!
Monnie: (laughing)
Natalie: I funny, Monnie. I funny.

She heard me say "FOUR"
