Treasured Picture

This picture was taken a few years ago of my grandma and grandpa in Canada. It will soon be on my living room wall as a constant reminder of their love and devotion to each other. They had an amazing 64 year love story.

Mommy's Helper

Christmas in JC

The first stop I made was to see my new nephew! Here is the proud Daddy with baby Chase.

Here Natalie gives Chase kisses.

Still attached.

The snow has arrived. The official amt. was around 8" for our area. This was the first snow that Natalie got to go outside and enjoy. I don't think she was that impressed with it yet. Maybe when Daddy gets to play with her in it, she'll have more fun! Poor Mike is working long hours at the airport. We miss him!!!!

She's so bundled, apparently her arms won't go down to her sides. :)

Doug and Maggie are in the hospital tonight. Tomorrow morning will be the start of labor induction for Maggie. Hopefully by tomorrow evening Mike and I will have a nephew!! Please keep them all in your prayers. I will post pictures when I get them.

The New Bed

Yes, she still thinks it's for both of them. I think Cole looks forward to 8pm every night (when Natalie goes to bed) so he can be in peace. He no longer has to share HIS new bed with her, get poked, pulled, or fallen on. He gives us those miserable looks when she pesters him, but when he thinks we're not paying attention, we catch him licking and nibbling on her ears.
She is mocking him in this picture...

Now last year for Christmas, her great-grandpa (Grandie) bought her a nice brookstone "nap" blanket. It is the softest blanket, and anytime we lay it out on the floor, she grabs her bear and lays down on it. She LOVES it. Because it's not machine washable, I try and keep it clean as long as possible by keeping it away from the dog, and dog hair. However, yesterday morning Natalie got it out, dragged it across two rooms and stuffed it under Cole's head. I couldn't argue with that. I grabbed the camera instead.

Heaven help the person that might ever try to get in between these two.
She is also saying "hello" and holding the phone up to her ear. I get such a kick out of her creativity sometimes. In this next picture, she put her toy phone in our (real) phone cradle. Then proceeded to clap for herself.

You might have noticed her teddy bear in quite a few of the pictures. "Baby bear" is the bear Mike and I built for her when I was pregnant. She says "baby bear" clearly, and when she hugs him, she says "awwww" We DO NOT travel without this bear. Remember the columbian coffee commercials with airplane that does a U-turn?? That would be us if we left him behind.
We have a rule in our house that Natalie only gets her paci (aka: plug) when she's in bed. Nap time or night time. Other than that, we hide it. Although in these pictures (and upcoming video) she has it in her mouth b/c Mike is sleeping in the same room and I'm trying to keep her from jabbering and waking him up!
Don't get too grossed out with this video...at least she's sharing, right?
This is another video taken a couple weeks ago that I forgot to post. It's definitely a favorite of ours.

Where's Natalie?

There is something very comical about losing your child (in the same room) in a power outage.

We were just getting ready for Natalie's bath tonight, when EVERYTHING went dark. I-can't-even-see-my-hand-in-front-of-my-face, dark. I just heard her jabbering about something behind me, so I knew she wasn't far away. We call to her, and for once, she is quiet. (probably a little nervous) This goes on for a few minutes.

Me: Did you find her yet??
Mike: No...she can't be that far away! Natalieeeee???
Me: Natalieee????
Mike: **laughing**
Me: What happened?
Mike: She just ran into my leg!! I've got her now.

Mike called the electric company and apparently a transformer was on fire. Power came back on about an hour later.

This picture was taken in a local mall. Natalie was obsessed with this dog that looked just like our Cole. Believe it or not, this dog was a statue!!

Here is Mike entertaining Natalie, very well I might add.

This was taken at Thanksgiving. She had a great time playing with her cousins!

Our latest purchase was an early Christmas gift for Cole. His old dog bed was worn out, so I found a steal on an orthopedic dog bed (7" thick foam!) He spends every spare minute in it!! We are starting to miss him around the house b/c he whines to go upstairs to lay in it.

The only problem....Natalie thinks it's a bed for her too!
...and she antagonizes him:

My Confession

I secretly love it when Natalie wakes up during the night. I'm sure it's b/c it doesn't happen too often, nor does it take much effort to get her to go back to sleep. However, I cherish those times. We rock with her sitting on my lap facing me, her head on my chest, under my chin. My arms are wrapped snugly around her little body and I can hear her light breathing. On cold nights like tonight, I wrap a blanket around us. She falls back to sleep in my arms almost instantly, and sometimes she even snores! Those are some of the sweetest moments. I can't help but wonder if this is a part of the vision God had when he created mothers. This love is so beautiful...and I see it everywhere, not just between Natalie and I.

Happy Halloween!

We hope everyone had a great day! Personally, I can't remember a Halloween that I had this much fun! We took Natalie over to Randy and Dorie's, we had dinner and then went trick-or-treating. By the third house, Natalie was pulling me down the sidewalk, giggling and screeching the whole way. She was so excited, we all couldn't help but laugh with her. The funny thing is, she probably had NO idea that she was getting candy. I think she was excited b/c most of the houses she went up to had dogs or cats that she got to pet!! Either way, we all had a blast. By the way, Natalie was dressed up as a Care Bear (harmony bear)

We had pictures of our house taken today for the market. Mike and I have been working so hard on this house non-stop this week! We're exhausted. A BIIIIG thank you to Randy for helping us haul (and store) our extra things. We appreciate your help!!!

News!

Our house is now on the market! We are not moving far away (Oklahoma is not in God's plans for us) but we're selling our house to move to an apt here in the city. (and by apt, I mean renting a house, or part of a house) Mike is continuing to look for jobs elsewhere, and this way, we won't have to worry about selling our house quickly when he gets a job. It's bitter-sweet. This is the place where we became a family, this is where all of our memories of Natalie are so far. It'll be hard, but we're on to bigger and better things!

Although, with this comes a LOT of work. Today alone I have: cleaned out all of our appliances, sprayed water on the windows (a little cold out to do that!), and wiped them all down with glass cleaner, inside and out. That may not sound like much, but with Natalie running off the windex or playing in the dog's water bowl, or countless other things I've had to stop and get her for, it took a long time. My hands ache from all the work...makes me feel good. I love productive days.

Natalie is doing well, she cut her first molar this week. We also had our family portrait taken! She did really great, and we were happy with the results! Here are the picture proofs:

The next picture was not posed. Natalie decided to wrap her arms around our necks, and Mike and I just looked at each other and cracked up!

Cardinals Weekend!

Friday evening was spent at Busch Stadium with my family. Cory was able to get us passes (through work) to get on the field before the game to watch the players warm up. We took an elevator down under the stadium, walked through the tunnel up onto the field. It was amazing to be so close! Quite a few of the players (Eckstein, Molina, Taguchi, Schumaker, Spiezio, and Ankiel) were signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans.
Here's the three of us:

Just Mike and I:

Molina signing autographs:

Wouldn't you know it, So Taguchi walked over to us, bent down to Natalie in her stroller and handed her a baseball!!! Later, we got it signed by him, as well as Schumaker. Mike also took some video of Pujols batting; the first one he hit went out of the park. It's impressive to watch.
About to hand Natalie the ball:

Schumaker signing:

We had our family photo taken on the field before we went up to our party room. Natalie chowed down on dinner while cooling off in the a/c. It was a great setup for her to run around in the room, somewhat contained. We left early, our little girl was tuckered.
Here she is carrying around her beloved teddy bears:

Saturday afternoon, we met my family in their hotel room. They had the top floor suite overlooking the stadium (again, compliments of Cory's work) Later, we rode the metro over to union station where we had dinner. We got back to the room in time to watch the rest of the Cards game that night. Natalie enjoyed the fireworks from the window!!
The view:
Cory flew back to LA Sunday, and we spent the evening with Mike's parents, at the last Cards home game. (I forgot my camera!!) Natalie stayed put for about an hour in our seats (better that I expected) and then went on a long walk with Nani and Pop. We left early again with her being so tired, apparently we missed a good ending!
Natalie didn't wake up until almost 11:30 this morning! She must have been catching up on sleep from our busy weekend.
